Markets are constantly changing and 2020 is an extreme example. Traders must always be prepared to change their tactics in order to deal with whatever the markets throw at them. Alan will show you what tactics were working in 2019 and how they have failed in 2020. Then he'll show you his strategy for dealing with COVID-19 and how he is preparing for what lies beyond.

In these uncertain times and artificially low interest rates, traders and investors are finding it very difficult to make sustainable returns from the Stockmarket, or any other investments. But given the converging problems that the world economy is facing as several key cycles are poised to align in 2014, we need to stop worrying about profits and start worrying about capital preservation. In this talk Alan?s going to show you what to expect and what you can do about it

Breakout trading is one of the most popular forms of short term trading in use around the world today?and that?s because it simply works. Breakout trading is momentum trading following a breakout from a point of agreement. A key feature of this style of trading is that breakouts can occur regardless of what the broad market is doing and therefore it will find traction in most market conditions. Alan will explain the key concepts behind breakout trading before taking you through a trading simulation.

Breakout trading is one of the most popular forms of short term trading in use around the world today?and that?s because it simply works. Breakout trading is momentum trading following a breakout from a point of agreement. A key feature of this style of trading is that breakouts can occur regardless of what the broad market is doing (rising, falling or even moving sideways) and therefore it will find traction in most market conditions. Alan will explain the key concepts behind breakout trading, describe each of the indicators he uses in detail and show back-testing results going back over five years. Finally, Alan will run through a mini breakout trading workshop to demonstrate the mechanics of this approach.

Alan?s presentation is based on indicators that he has developed over the past couple of decades, specifically designed to trade the Australian Stock market. He will explain the history of their development including their construction and intended application. Indicators to be discussed include: Money Histogram, The MACD predictor, The Range Indicator, Hull Moving Average, Gap Gauge. Alan is going to use this conference to release his latest indicator, the Gap Gauge. This talk will take you behind the scenes, showing you how Alan uses technical analysis to solve practical problems he encounters as a trader.

Alan will explain the theory behind Complex Adaptive Systems and will then apply this understanding to the Australian stock market and other key global equity markets. He will also outline how this knowledge can enhance the use of technical analysis by identifying the most appropriate trading tactics and indicators for any given situation.
