International Federation of Technical Analysts
The International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) is a non-profit organization of technical analysts and associations that aims to promote and advance the knowledge, theory, and practice of technical analysis worldwide.
IFTA provides a platform for networking and sharing technical analysis expertise across international boundaries, and encourages the development of technical analysis as a recognized profession in the financial industry.
The organization also offers certification programs for technical analysts who wish to validate their knowledge and expertise in the field.
IFTA offers two primary certifications:
- Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) This is a globally recognized designation for technical analysts that consists of three levels of certification. Each level is progressively more advanced and requires a higher level of knowledge and expertise in technical analysis. The CFTe designation is highly regarded in the financial industry and is recognized by many professional organizations.
- Master of Financial Technical Analysis (MFTA) This is the highest level of technical analysis certification offered by IFTA. It is designed for technical analysts who have achieved a high level of expertise in the field and have demonstrated a significant contribution to the advancement of technical analysis. The MFTA designation is highly respected in the financial industry and is recognized as a mark of excellence.
In addition to these certifications, IFTA also offers various educational resources such as conferences, seminars, and webinars to its members.
To become a member of IFTA, one must join a local affiliated association that is a member of IFTA. The Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA) is one such organization that is affiliated with IFTA.
Membership in ATAA provides access to IFTA resources, including certification programs, educational events, and networking opportunities.
