7:00pm: Peter Thornton - Confused by options?

Trading can be quite confusing to those who are starting on their trading path, and options can appear even more confusing and even frightening. This is a shame, as that perception drives many new traders to other instruments such as CFDs and futures. All instruments have their place, and options trading may not suit some people and their preferred style of trading; however, options are not difficult to grasp.

In this presentation, Peter will break down the perceived barriers through clear steps, and show the power in the asymmetry of the options price. Traders can then make informed decisions about the suitability of options in their trading.

8:00pm: Refreshment Break

8:15pm: The Six Markets Tool

When an options trader understands the power in the asymmetry of the options price, rather than the expiry curve, it then becomes necessary to be able to match strategies to a trading opportunity. You will see how to apply technical analysis to identify these opportunities through the Six Markets Tool. Peter developed the simple Six Markets Tool to keep new traders safe from incorrectly employing the wrong strategy in the wrong situation. Since that time it has also developed into a tool to focus traders on systems and strategy, development and education. In addition to the Six Markets Tool, Peter will also discuss:

  • Three Categories of Options Traders
  • Four Levels of Options Planning and
  • The Sundial Compass approach.

Peter Furner is an Australian engineer who has a passion for sailing as well as trading options in the US market. Peter has been trading and sharing ideas and concepts since 2007, particularly options and trade planning. He has participated in various forums, and has actively shared his ideas through trading clubs. Peter is now documenting some of his systems and concepts in order to share his approach to trading. The overarching concept is to develop options traders with safe trading styles.
