8:00pm: Peter Hallsworth - Precis of Mark Douglas’s Books — Part 2

Peter will expand on some of the material he rushed through in part 1 last month. The talk will emphasize some of those key aspects of common trading behaviour that prevents most traders from becoming consistently successful, and he will discuss in detail the techniques that Mark Douglas suggested to overcome these traits.

Peter is a retired scientist, ATAA member and a private trader.

8:45pm: Tea & coffee

9:00pm: Charles Browne – Moving Stops to Break Even

Theoretically, moving protective stops to break-even appears to be a good idea. But is it, really? There are a number of factors to consider, which could negate the benefits of break-even stops, and can actually result in increased portfolio risk and other negative effects. In this presentation, Charles will discuss these factors and other important considerations that traders should consider when deciding to use a break-even stop.

Charles has been trading the financial markets since 1972. In that time, he has traded a range of instruments including shares, futures, options, CFDs and forex. He has given presentations to all ATAA Chapters, and also gave two presentations at the 2010 Annual ATAA Conference. Charles has served as the Adelaide ATAA Chapter President since 1996, and was the ATAA National President from 2004 to 2009.
