6:30 pm Ed Roberts – Disruptive Technologies

Ed will talk about innovation and disruption, focussing on the areas of energy and transport. We are faced with an urgent need to decarbonise the global economy, yet are fortunate to have access to technologies to allow this to happen. Despite political reticence to grasp the opportunities these technologies provide, they will inevitably be adopted, because of their economic benefits. Such changes can occur much more rapidly than we generally realise – is it only ten years since the iPhone was introduced. What do these changes mean to investors; where are the opportunities for growth, what stocks will have their business models undercut?
