Using the Haguro Method and Basic Charting Techniques
Presented by Gary Burton - Saturday 13th April at 11.00 am (AEST)
The Idea of using a chart was first developed by SOKYU HONMA, who was born in the port city of SAKATA from 1716 to 1803 in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.
The message remains the same in today's markets; as Technical Traders, we must consult the market about the market, leaving aside the daily noise from news media and the many opinions on social media.
No two patterns are ever exactly the same, and Analysts and Traders are constantly challenged to keep a perspective of chart interpretation so as not to read into the chart the expectations of an outcome because the trader holds an open position in the market.
The real application of the chart is to speedily identify TOPS and BOTTOMS when they have been set, not predict TOPS and BOTTOMS.
The Haguro method is based on Seiki Shimizu's work, which is presented in his book, 'Japanese Chart of Charts'.
MetaStock developers have now programmed this method into a free app in the charting software.
This presentation will first cover the basic charting techniques every trader analyst should be aware of to establish a consistent and repeatable application of Technical Analysis and bring consistent results to trading.
The Haguro method identifies critical Weekly Candle patterns that offer static essential support and resistance levels to monitor going forward. These supply and demand levels provide trading opportunities and some very easy and basic observations every trader can consistently apply.
We will unpack the Haguro method in full and apply the technique to today's markets.
