Rule Based Trading Strategies 2 - Chris
Chris will give a short presentation each month on a single aspect that is important to consider when developing a rules-based trading strategy. This month Chris will complete the topic of liquidity, why it is important and a few ways to address it. The presentation is designed to be interactive, so come along with some ideas of your own to share.
Video Presentations and Discussion
Our online presenter this month, who both researches and helps manage several active funds, has had to postpone giving our presentation due to market volatility and its consequences.
This gives us an opportunity to watch two videos and discuss implications for our trading.
The first video is on how Hedge funds deliberately influence the markets, as told by a prominent Hedge Fund manager.
The second video centres on why so many traders lose money and what is required to be in the minority of traders doing well. Traders commonly are intelligent people, with strong intellectual backgrounds and have a wide range of technical tools and indicators at their disposal and still seem to lose or make limited or any significant profit.
The video presentations will provide the basis of discussions which may assist your technical analysis and particularly your ideas about when to add to positions, take a profit and the use of stop losses.
In 2025, we will be meeting in the Board Room upstairs at Eastlake FC.
We welcome all members and guests including the guest from last month’s meeting that I was unable to contact.
