10:00 - 12:00: It's When You Sell that Matters
This presentation will focus on issues to do with selling, whether it's mitigating a loss of capital or it's selling to reap the rewards of a profit.
The following points will be addressed:
- Psychology – an introduction to some important elements to do with selling; an example is when a small loss of capital develops into a large loss;
- Loss stops and profit stops – each of these actions has its own special issues.
- A video showing one trader’s approach to setting stops

1:00 - 2:00: What are the Charts Saying?
We will look for tradeable patterns from a selection of ASX 300 charts.
2:00 - 3:00: A Comparison of ATR versus Percent of Capital Loss Stops
This analysis has the aim of using calculations from a small number of hypothetical trades to see if one approach maybe superior to the other.
3:00: Meeting close
Meeting Location: 49 Gladstone Road, Highgate Hill, corner Morris Street (The Father Bacinskas Lithuanian Cultural Association).
- Free street parking is available on Gladstone Rd, Morris St and Julia St.
- The No.196 bus from the Adelaide Street, CBD stops right in front of the venue on Gladstone Rd.
- The venue is an 11 minute walk from the South Bank bus and train stations.
