10:00 - 12:00: The Trader’s Book of Volume – Learn how to translate the language of volume – a book by Mark Leibovit (2011)
Focusing exclusively on volume technical analysis, this book describes the basics of volume, explains how to use it to identify and assess the strength of trade-worthy trends, and provide in-depth techniques and strategies for trading volume indicators for profit.
We will be looking at part1 – The importance of volume in technical analysis and how basic volume analysis works with specific attention to:
- Volume Basics: A Trader's View
- The Trader's Mantra: Volume Precedes Price
- Navigating the Volume Trading Terrain
About Mark Leibovit:
He is a leading market strategist and technical analyst with more than 35 years of trading experience and possesses a solid track record of predicting important movement in the financial market including Black Monday 1987, the bear market of 2000 and 2008, and the ‘flash crash’ of May 2010.
Mark developed the Volume Reversal Indicator and newsletter in 1979, the latter evolving into the popular Web site VRTrader.com, where he currently serves as Chief Market Strategist.

Will focus on the ‘Cup and Handle’ pattern as shown in William J O’Neil’s book ‘How to make Money in Stocks’ was written around this pattern. He saw it as being one of the most reliable to use. Will also show the other 8 patterns he refers to.

Meeting Location: 49 Gladstone Road, Highgate Hill, corner Morris Street (The Father Bacinskas Lithuanian Cultural Association).
- Free street parking is available on Gladstone Rd, Morris St and Julia St.
- The No.196 bus from the Adelaide Street, CBD stops right in front of the venue on Gladstone Rd.
- The venue is an 11 minute walk from the South Bank bus and train stations.
