We have two Speakers this Month, Chris Meakin will be presenting on Volatility first up and then Adrian Stirn will be finishing his presentation from last Month.
7:10- 8.20 pm - Three different uses of Volatility in Financial Markets – Chris Meakin – Please Note Chris will be presenting via Zoom
Chris will present on three different uses of volatility in the financial markets. Part 1 will be on using Historical Volatility as a component to evaluating stock market conditions. Part 2 will demonstrate the use of Implied Volatility (aka the VIX) as another measure of market conditions. Part 3 will show how Annualised Volatility can be used as a measure of system health. All three parts of the presentation will be demonstrated using both Amibroker charts and RealTest scripts.
Chris Meakin
Chris started studying technical analysis and share trading in 2002. Chris has been a member of the ATAA since 2005 and has served on both the National Board and the Canberra chapter committee. Like many, Chris’ approach to trading and investing explored various avenues in the early years but has been rules-based trend following only for the past decade.

Adrian will finish his presentation from last Month as he thinks he never got to the most interesting part of his highly entertaining presentation. Adrian will look at some practical tips that we can use and how to help with some of the mental aspects of Day Trading. A lot of these ideas also apply to Trend Following. Like last Month bring an open mind and your questions.
Adrian Stirn Is a Fulltime Trader, small business owner who first started Trading in 1997 Drawing Bar Charts by Hand on Graph Paper. With a passion for the Markets Adrian progressed from being mostly Part Time to Finally becoming a Fulltime Trader but only after almost being driven crazy trying to get a repeatable & consistent process. After spending thousands of hours researching, testing & spending money on useless courses from the experts he realised most were experts, experts in marketing!
