Dr Paul was born in South Africa and began trading the markets in 1982 after completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1988, he became a full-time trader, and developed a keen understanding of price action & volume that he used to trade stocks, futures, and forex.
He made his first public presentation about his Trading Strategy at the University of Stellenbosch in 1989 and would later go on become the go to teacher/trading coach for many of the Banks and financial institutions in South Africa who wanted to improve the skills and consistency of their traders.
David has always taught that looking at price and volume together is an edge that traders should take advantage of and he basically built his entire trading career on this principle. He was also a big proponent of “buying when nobody else wants to” and “placing your trade entries where everybody else put their stops”.
