I am now a private trader. My professional career spanning over 35 years was in major corporate, Financial Services, covering a diversified range of roles including: Banking and Finance; Treasury Banking – Foreign Exchange and Money Market and Derivatives; Corporate Investor Relations; Superannuation Administration; Project Manager / Business Analyst.
I have traded my own account full-time since 2010. I have been using algorithmic based Rules Based Trading Systems since 2003, and today devote a significant portion of my working time into Trading System design and the ongoing development of Rules Based Trading Systems. I use Amibroker as my chosen Share Analysis software, and predominantly trade the ASX using CFD's.

The Sydney TA Chat Special Interest Group have worked on developing a Trading Plan Case Study, using a Rotational Trading System. This Case Study involved developing a set of trading rules we would use to see if we could trade successfully, and beat the market? (This is a “Virtual Portfolio”, so our trades are on a notional basis, as this Case Study is for educational purposes).

This Case Study is now in its 21st week, and the results have been sensational.

In this presentation, we will review the Trading Plan and our trading performance metrics behind our completed trades.

Heiken-Ashi Candlesticks look just like normal Japanese Candlesticks, so how are they different?
In the 1700s, when Munehisa Homma developed Heiken-Ashi Candlesticks, what were his objectives in designing a modified version of candlesticks?
Some traders (and in particular FX traders) claim that Heiken-Ashi Candlesticks are a very powerful tool towards identifying the direction of the trend.
In this presentation, we will look at how Heiken-Ashi candlesticks are constructed, and why they offer a very different approach to normal Candlesticks towards making your trading decisions.
