Filapek-Vandyck, Rudi

Rudi is approaching three decades as an active journalist mostly in finance. He successfully built a financial news wire in Europe. After arriving in Australia in 2000, he worked on several projects before founding FNArena — a service dedicated to educate and assist investors who like to do their own market research.  He has built a reputation for making out-of-the-box, non-consensus market calls, based on unbiased, in-depth analysis. His stories are regularly re-published (eg Eureka Report, The Switzer Super Report). Rudi is a regular guest on Sky Business, and travels regularly through the country to share methods, insights and analysis with professionals and investors.

Get set for an evening of edutainment with assistance of the FNArena Editor's secret vault of financial market gems. Returning for the fourth (!) time, FNArena Editor Rudi Filapek-Vandyck is planning to make this year's presentation "something special". For his presentation, some 50 charts and graphs have been selected from this year's analyst research reports. Those who attend should prepare to be surprised, shocked, enlightened and ... entertained.

Rudi will share some of his personal analysis and observations, while responding to questions from the audience.

Fundamental analysis and technical analysis are often seen as two opposites, though some investors use a bit of both. FNArena Editor Rudi Filapek-Vandyck likes to start his own analyses from a fundamental viewpoint, but he has observed some of his conclusions fall in line with what technical analysts see in their charts. So what?s happening? Is there more common ground between the two than is generally accepted? Rudi has also developed the concept of All-Weather Performers in the stock market. He will explain the concept and update on latest findings and observations.
