The Melbourne Chapter Council has found a new venue for the monthly chapter meetings, and we will be moving there as from the October 2017 meeting. It is the ibis Melbourne Hotel at 15-21 Therry Street Melbourne, near the corner of Victoria Street. It has a large function room with enough room for some great member networking, and a bar for the purchase of drinks.

So we are looking forward to some really good networking opportunities so that our members can more easily find, and make contact with, like-minded investors and traders, and extend their own personal networks. We are sure that many members will be able to benefit with this exchange of knowledge.

More information soon.

The inaugural meeting in October of the Melbourne chapter of the ATAA at our new venue, the IBIS in Therry St, was a roaring success. Members and visitors enjoyed an extended networking session at the start of the meeting, with complimentary drinks and finger food. There was a great buzz in the room as lots of new connections were made and details swapped, as attendees discussed their various trading & investing interests.

We then had an excellent presentation from Andrew Swanscott on ?7 Ways to Reduce Your Drawdowns? (the presentation is now available on this website). Lots of positive feedback was received for Andrew?s presentation which provided many practical takeaways.

The meeting was then followed by dinner in the hotel restaurant and a chance for further networking with fellow attendees as well as the speaker himself.

Many members remarked at how the good the new venue was for facilitating better networking and creating a much more lively vibe to the meeting. Some who had not been regular attendees in the recent past said they would now be keen to come much more often again.

The new venue looks to be a positive change for the chapter and we look forward to welcoming members and guests as we settle in to our new ?digs?.
