Triple Screen Trading – Gary Fraser

Gary will explain how he uses Dow Theory along with the concept of Triple Screen Trading to find swing trade opportunities.  He will also examine some of the short term candlestick structures that provide clues that a share is ready to move.

Gary Fraser works as a trading coach, mentor and trader as well as providing technical analysis services to private clients. He enjoys the challenge of working with clients who are committed to improving their share market performance. He has been involved in the markets for over 30 years and his interests include risk management, psychology and candlestick price action.

Price Action, Volatility and Timeframe – Rauno Tolonen

Is a trader’s choice of timeframe when analysing  or trading an instrument merely  a question of personal preference,  or is there a more objective basis for making decisions about timeframe selection? Should volatility of price movement play a role? We will have a quick look at how you might use volatility of price movement to assist in determining chart timeframes. The focus will be on stocks, using end-of –day data, resulting in timeframes between daily and monthly;  however, the concept could be easily be adapted for intraday timeframes

Rauno has been a member of the ATAA since 2007 and a full-time trader/investor since 2005. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Business Law) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Law both from Curtin University in Western Australia. Rauno has worked in commercial accounting, private practice accounting and commercial management environments in arms-length and family businesses. But it is studying the markets and trading that has captured his work- life imagination.  He has traded Australian equities and Australian exchange traded options and is currently focused on long-only Australian equities trades and investments using predominantly technical, price action,  chart-reading methods. Rauno conducts computer explorations using both Metastock and VBA(Excel)  to shortlist opportunities.

Claude Fedele – The Santa Claus Rally

Have you heard of the “Christmas rally”?  This short presentation will step back in time and revisit some of the slides from my past ATAA presentations relating to the Santa Claus Rally on the ASX 200/SPI 200 and show examples of US stock option prices which multiplied many times during December/January.
Claude Fedele commenced his career as a Computer Programmer in 1986 and has worked in the broking industry for 22 years, originally as a Futures Night Dealer in 1996 and then as a Client Advisor for futures, shares and options.  Claude can be contacted at
