Melbourne Chapter, Thu, 9 Nov 2017 at 6:00 pm
Please note the great features in our new meeting venue:
From our October meeting, the Melbourne Chapter will be meeting at the ibis Hotel Melbourne.
In this venue, we will have our Networking Session, and the Huddles when we run them, in the same large room as the bar (from where you can purchase drinks), and also the presentation area for our Guest Speaker presentations.
November meeting Networking specialities:
In this much better venue the Networking Session (and Huddles) will give you the opportunity to make new friendships with like-minded colleagues, to help you build your skills and knowledge and to improve your trading / investing results. Of course, you will also be able to network with your existing friends and colleagues and talk about the markets — both past market performance and where the market might be going to in the near future.
Visitors are welcome. First visit free, subsequent visits $40.
If a member is responsible for signing up a new member, the member can receive a discount off their next annual renewal fee.
5:00 to 6:00 pm: Informal Networking Session - Mingling with your colleagues.
ibis Hotel, Level 1, 15-24 Therry Street, Melbourne
6:00 to 6:30 pm: Special Huddle Session — Focused networking so that members can “talk shop” on a particular topic and seek out some great tips and hints. What is your favourite topic?
6:30 to 6:45 pm: Notices and Updates
6:45 to 8:00 pm: Guest Speaker: Jim Berg – ShareTradingEducation.com
Topic: Trading with Volatility Indicators
It doesn’t take long for beginning traders to learn the importance of developing a disciplined, rule based trading plan. It has almost become a cliché but it is true that if you do not have a plan then you are planning to fail. Jim will cover in detail his weight-of-evidence trading plan and how to use his ‘volatility indicators’ for entries, exits and position management.
Jim Berg has over 30 years market experience, including 18 years as a professional broker. He now manages his own Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF) from home in Melbourne, Victoria and writes his weekly newsletter.
Since 1996 Jim has taught thousands of traders around the world how to trade. He is also an ASX presenter and author of The Stock Trading Handbook and Shares to Buy & When. He was a guest speaker at the ATAA National Conference in Adelaide in 2011 and this year at the MetaStock conference in Sydney.
