Richard Lie founded Stockradar in 2002, to provide an independent alternative to fundamental analysis. Lie pioneered the use of technical analysis at Dow Jones in London between 1991 and 1996. Before that he began his career trading futures and options for leading financial institutions, including the Australian Bullion Company, and in the Equities Division at NAB. Topic: Trading Through a Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF)
This presentation will cover:
- The structure of a SMSF
- The 3 main requirements to enable a SMSF to trade.
- The obligations of Trustees
- The new penalty regime
- Taxation aspects
- Can an SMSF conduct a business?
- Possible changes to Limited Recourse Borrowing Arrangements

Darryl Nagel has been a member of the ATAA since the 1990's. He started trading the markets in 1986 and specialises in trading options. Over the last 2 years, he has been a guest panellist on the Australian national Sky Business Channel program "Your Money Your Call, as a technical analyst. He commenced his professional career as a lawyer in 1970, obtaining a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Sydney. He was a corporate lawyer with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia for 30 years. More recently he specialises in providing legal seminars on trading the markets within an Australian Self-Managed Superannuation Fund. Darryl has the requisite RG146, ASIC recognised qualifications, for advising on Superannuation and SMSFs. He works with financial advisers on high level SMSF strategies.

Please note minor changes with the new networking/dinner venue:- $25 for a main course and one drink (tap beer, house wine or soft drink). Please order dinner before the meeting in the normal way (after 5:30pm at our own Dinner Desk in the Telstra Conference Centre).
