Observations from a Fundamental Analyst - Marcus Barnard

Marcus shares his thoughts and observations from his time as a fundamental analyst, to the benefits and limitations of technical analysis in the analysis of shares, valuations and recommendations.

Marcus is a senior industrials analyst at Bell Potter Securities, specialising in analysing financial companies, including Janus Henderson, Pendal, Platinum and Perpetual.

He has 28 years of experience working in investments, mostly on the sell side in a number of London based investment banks covering the UK Insurance and Miscellaneous Financials sector. Prior to this, he spent ten years as a Senior Fund Manager running UK equity income, general insurance and bond funds.  He worked as an IR and Strategy Consultant for an insurance company advising on the equity story for an IPO.

He is a qualified Actuary with a First-Class honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Bristol.
