Melbourne Chapter, Thu, 12 Sept 2019 at 6:00 pm
Your Networking Opportunities:
A key feature of our monthly chapter meetings in this really good meeting venue is the Special Networking Session where you have the opportunity to make new friendships with like-minded colleagues, to help you build your skills and knowledge and to improve your trading / investing results. Of course, you will also be able to network with your existing friends and colleagues and talk about the markets — both past market performance, and where the market might be going to in the near future.
Visitors are welcome. Please note that a $30 attendance fee is payable by all non-members who attend.
All first-time visitors and new members are welcome to join in the “Newbies Huddle” during the networking session. This will provide you with information about the ATAA, and the basics about Technical Analysis, and some tips about going forward.

6:15 to 6:55pm: Robert Brain — Private Trader, Educator and Nimble Short-Term Investor
Topic: "Searching for a Trading Strategy "
When starting out in the business of share trading or investing, many people are confused by the huge range of possible analysis methods and strategies. Even with experience, some traders who use discretionary analysis methods manage to overlook some basic principles. This session is a back-to-basics look at some key principles for use by both experienced and novice traders and investors. The ideas here can form the basis of a trading strategy. A case study example will be studied if time permits.
About Robert Brain
Robert has many years of professional experience in both Engineering and IT and several years’ experience in the share market. A few years ago, Robert decided to combine his then casual interest in the share market with his extensive experience as an educator to develop his web-based Share Market Toolbox business to help investors and traders to refine their own strategies and learn about the strategies of others. Robert is a private trader and educator, an ATAA Councillor in the Melbourne Chapter, and a Director on the National ATAA Board. He also runs the Australian BullCharts User Group with monthly Melbourne meetings and online webinar meetings.
