Main Presentation – Trading the Mayhem

When markets turn more volatile, as they have lately, trend following strategies tend to suffer with drawdowns, with trades being stopped out, and a fall in win rate. One way to alleviate that is to trade companion strategies which thrive in volatile times. In this presentation, Alan will discuss the approach of inefficiency targeting when compiling your portfolio of strategies. He'll take a look at the types of trades that do well in volatile times, and how we can use that research to construct a quantitative strategy to target such an environment. He'll also highlight the benefits of trading complimentary strategies can have on reducing the overall volatility of returns in your account. Using a systematic approach throughout and sharing results of specific ideas, this presentation will be sure to provide you with a wealth of research ideas to take away and try.
