10:00 - 12:00: A continuation of the study of Colin Nicholson’s book 'Building Wealth in the Stock Market - a proven Investment Plan for finding the Best Stocks and Managing Risk':
Colin Nicholson has been investing his own money in Australian shares for over 45 years. He is one of the very few teachers of investing who has published his investment return each year.
His seminal book 'Building Wealth in the Stock Market' provides a complete model for investing successfully and safely in bull and bear markets. It is essentially a trading / investing course and this book will be used as a study guide.
This presentation will cover the following chapters (the book is not needed during this session as the chapters will be displayed on the screen):
Chapter 7: The Risks to be Managed - Market, Specific, Financial, and Liquidity
Chapter 8: Managing Market Risk -
Colin Nicholson’s strategy for proportioning his capital is driven by three analytical tools:
o Dow Theory phase analysis,
o The Coppock indicator,
o Trend analysis of the market index.
As an experienced investor and teacher, Colin shares with readers his own investment plan – one that has been honed over 40 years and has seen him consistently beat the market and his target rate of return.
Biography:
Colin nicholson has been a highly rated speaker at many AIA and ATAA national conferences and has written five books on investing and written for Shares magazine, Smart Investor magazine, The Australian Financial Review, BRW. He is an honorary life member and past national president of the ATAA. He has retired from teaching his investment methods.
