7:00 pm: Charles Browne – Update on the Parabolic indicator
In November last year, Charles gave a presentation on the Parabolic indicator. Since then he has continued to test strategies based on the Parabolic in multiple timeframes. In this brief presentation he will present an overview of the testing results.
7:15 pm: Darryl Nagel - Trading through a Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF)
In this presentation, Daryl will discuss:
- Understanding an SMSF
- Trust Deed
- Investing and Research.
Darryl will also show two strategies that he uses to trade through his SMSF, both as a trader and as an investor. He will provide some recent updates in the law, and will share his approach regarding the proposed change in franking credits for shareholders who do not pay tax.

8:30 pm: Darryl Nagel - How to profit in a falling market
Daryl will outline the concept of trading short, and will provide examples of shorting strategies using various instruments.
Darryl Nagel (BA LLB – University of Sydney) is a practising solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW. He was admitted in March 1970. He has 30 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and has formal qualifications in the SMSF space, having an RG146 in Superannuation and in SMSFs. Property companies such as Mirvac and ParkTrent have utilised his specialist knowledge of SMSF strategies, especially regarding the purchase of real estate within an SMSF. Darryl set up his family SMSF in 2006, and trades and invests through his SMSF. He commenced trading in 1986, and since 2003 has taught technical analysis in Australia and overseas. With his own trading he trades both short and as well as long. With the current market conditions, he is focusing in particular on short trades. As is often said: “The market goes up by the stairs and down by the elevator”. Darryl has traded on the short side in a number of markets, including stocks, CFDs, Forex and Futures. He holds an RG146 in respect of all trading instruments.
